Russia's warships are continuously monitoring the activities of the US Navy in the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
Some time ago, the American missile destroyer Porter entered the Black Sea, as well as a tanker and a command ship. And just the other day, two bombers flew near the Russian border.
According to the official version, it is connected with preparation for drills. Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that this is precisely the unscheduled actions of the United States, which are creating a multinational grouping of armed forces in the Black Sea in the immediate vicinity of Russian borders.
"Such actions are a destabilizing factor in the Black Sea region, one of the goals of which is the military development of the territory of Ukraine. Taking into account the fact that, in addition to the American Navy, the exercises are planned to involve tactical, patrol and strategic aviation, as well as the contingent of the Armed Forces of Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine, this is a clear study of the alleged theater of military operations in the event that Kiev prepares a military solution for southeast," said the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov.
Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said that the military development of the territory of Ukraine is a matter of deep concern to Russia. The Russian leader, in particular, touched upon this topic during the Direct Line. Putin stressed that this activity creates significant security problems and concerns the real vital interests of Russia.
